Celebrating the ensemble's 18th Concert Season

Wilmington Handbell Ensemble (WHE) is the only community based handbell ensemble in the Wilmington, DE area. Membership is by audition or invitation and the group draws from various church bell choirs in New Castle County.
Founded by Michael Helman in 2000, WHE was started for and by those who love handbell music and wanted to share this love with audiences of all ages and abilities. The group is also dedicated to promoting excellence in musicianship among its members.
WHE provides educational/entertainment performances at nursing homes and extended care facilities in the Delaware Valley, at New Castle County libraries and at area churches - expanding the circle of those who enjoy, appreciate and play handbell music. Previous concert venues include Longwood Gardens, Brandywine River Museum, Festival of Trees at Cokesbury, Christmas in Old New Castle, Christmas Open Houses in Salem and Woodstown, New Jersey, and the Delaware Art Museum.

The Wilmington Handbell Ensemble is a sponsored ministry of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, in Wilmington, DE, which affords the group use of their handbells, equipment and rehearsal space.
