SUMMARY:Citizen Photographer Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Smyrna Opera House is proud to host our exhibition of the Citizen Photographer initiative in our gallery on the third floor. \nCitizen Photographer\, developed by the Delaware Art Museum\, is a statewide initiative inviting community members to engage in civic reflection and contribute to shaping public perceptions of identity through photography.  The Delaware Art Museum collaborated with Wilmington’s Teen Warehouse\, the Smyrna Opera House\, and the Lewes Public Library to host free photography workshops and encourage Delawareans to submit their photographs for consideration for exhibition. \n  \nVisitors can see the photographs on display during business hours (Monday-Friday at 9am-3pm) starting September 3rd – October 2nd. \nPatrons are invited to join us on September 3rd at 6pm for an opening reception. There will be a bar\, food\, musical ambience\, and photographers available to speak with. This event is free to attend and the dress code is casually elegant. \n  \nFeatured Photographers \nAlecea Balkum-Crossman\, Yakime Akelá Brown\, Leah Elizabeth Burcat\, Bill Crnkovich\, Nicholas Paul Del Pesco\, Alexandra Duprey. Smith\, Douglas Strande\, Jea Porter Street Jr.\, Mercedes Watson\, John L. Williams\, Chalila Chae Wilson\, Joan M. Winchester\, Aaron M. DESCRIPTION:Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti\, Heidi Klum’s unforgettable 2016 Golden Buzzer recipient and finalist of America’s Got Talent\, is an Italian-American crooner known best for his flawless vocals\, larger than life personality\, and his heart of gold. Born August 26\, 1995\, Sal was raised in the small town of Bethpage\, New York where he still resides today. From a very young age Sal was influenced by his grandmother to love the musical genius of the classic crooner sounds of Dean Martin\, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. \nAt the young age of fifteen Sal realized the hidden talent he possessed and began performing his flawless tribute to the great Frank Sinatra across New York. In 2016\, Sal made his debut on Season 11 of the NBC hit show “America’s Got Talent.” That night\, The 20-year-old college student went from delivering Pizzas for his cousin’s restaurant\, to delivering what’s considered one of the best performances in AGT history. \nBefore long\, the world would come to know and admire him as “Sal the Voice”.
