The Smyrna Opera House is proud to host our exhibition of the Citizen Photographer initiative in our gallery on the third floor.

Citizen Photographer, developed by the Delaware Art Museum, is a statewide initiative inviting community members to engage in civic reflection and contribute to shaping public perceptions of identity through photography.  The Delaware Art Museum collaborated with Wilmington’s Teen Warehouse, the Smyrna Opera House, and the Lewes Public Library to host free photography workshops and encourage Delawareans to submit their photographs for consideration for exhibition.

Visitors can see the photographs on display during business hours (Monday-Friday at 9am-3pm) starting September 3rd – October 2nd.

Patrons are invited to join us on September 3rd at 6pm for an opening reception. There will be a bar, food, musical ambience, and photographers available to speak with. This event is free to attend and the dress code is casually elegant.
